Alpha Neural Networks (ANN) was founded in 1999 by Rebecca Pearson, a quantitative analyst with several years experience covering Asia Pacific for Putnam Investment Management in the United States.

In 2000, ANN moved its operations hub to the epicentre of its research, Hong Kong. Since that time, the firm has continued to service the needs of its institutional clients based in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, London, New York, & Boston.
